# Using Anycast DNS with a web hosting account

> hosting.com's shared and reseller hosting accounts use Anycast for DNS routing. Learn more about Anycast, and how to optionally set regional name servers.

This article discusses using Anycast DNS with shared hosting and reseller hosting accounts.

## About Anycast

Anycast is a network routing and addressing methodology that provides several advantages:

* Improved DNS query performance.

* Redundancy.

* Load balancing.

By default, shared hosting and reseller hosting accounts use Anycast for DNS. You do not need to do any additional configuration steps for your account to use Anycast.

The following Anycast name servers are the defaults for shared (*a2hosting.com* ) and reseller hosting (*supercp.com* ) accounts:
