# Changing control panel template in Joomla

[Joomla](https://hosting.com/hosting/platforms/joomla-hosting) is a feature rich content manager and allows various customization using templates. There are many free or paid templates to change and customize the look of the [Joomla](https://hosting.com/hosting/platforms/joomla-hosting) backend. This article shows you how to change the control panel look and feel with a template change.

## Changing the control panel template for Joomla

To change the control panel template follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Joomla site with an administrator account.

2. On the top menu bar, click **Extensions**, click **Manage**, and then click **Styles**:\

3. Change to **Administratrator** in the selection box to make template changes only for administrator view:\

4. Tick the checkbox next to the selected style and click on **Default**:\

5. View the updated Joomla backend style template for the administrator view:\
