# Clearing a web browser's cache and cookies

> Discover how to clear your browser's cache and cookies, essential for web development and setup.

This article describes how to clear the cache and cookies for a variety of popular web browsers.

Web browsers use caching to speed up the browsing experience. Normally, this is not a problem. However, when you are developing pages for your web site or configuring domain settings, the browser's local cache and cookies can get in the way. For example, you might update one of your web pages.
