# Do you support PCI compliance?

> At hosting.com, you can use a number of third-party shopping cart APIs on your site to ensure PCI compliance.

The short answer is that most hosting.com plans do not support PCI compliance. However, you can use a third-party shopping cart API (application programming interface) on your site to ensure PCI compliance.

  The exception is hosting.com Managed WordPress powered by Rocket.net. For these plans, the underlying hosting infrastructure enables you to attain PCI compliance. However, it is your responsibility to ensure your site is secure and complies with established security standards. ## About PCI compliance

Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance is a proprietary security standard that is intended to protect customer information for various types of payment cards (credit cards, debit cards, etc.). Any company that accepts, processes, or stores credit card information **must** be PCI compliant. Failure to comply with PCI security standards can result in heavy fines, restrictions, or permanent expulsion from card acceptance programs.

Although hosting.com does not directly support PCI compliance, several third-party providers have PCI-compliant shopping cart APIs that you can use in your own e-commerce applications.

## Third-party providers

The following providers offer PCI-compliant shopping cart APIs that you can use on your hosting.com account.

### PayPal

2Checkout is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest possible certification level. Their API supports many programming languages, including PHP, Python, and Ruby.

2Checkout also integrates with many different content management systems (CMS) and shopping cart applications, such as Drupal, Magento, oSCommerce, and Open Cart. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest possible certification level. Their API integrates with PHP, Python, Ruby, and more.
