# Finding SSL certificate fingerprints

> Learn how to easily find fingerprints or thumbprints for SSL certificates using your preferred web browser.

It is easy to find the fingerprints, sometimes called thumbprints, for certificates by using a web browser. This article contains instructions for finding fingerprints with several popular web browsers.

## Google Chrome

To view the fingerprints for an SSL certificate in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

1. At the left side of the browser's address bar, click the icon.

2. Click **Connection is secure**.

3. Click **Certificate is valid**.

4. On the **General** tab appear the fingerprints.

## Mozilla Firefox

To view the fingerprints for an SSL certificate in Mozilla Firefox, follow these steps:

1. At the left side of the browser's address bar, click the padlock icon.

2. Click **Connection secure**.

3. Click **More Information**.

4. Click **View Certificate**.

5. Scroll down to the **Fingerprints** section.

## Microsoft Edge

To view the fingerprints for an SSL certificate in Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

1. At the left side of the browser's address bar, click the padlock icon.

2. Click **Connection is secure**.

3. In the pop-up dialog box, click the **Show certificate** icon.

4. On the **General** tab appear the fingerprints.
