# Overview of .CN Domain 

The .CN domain is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the People's Republic of China, managed by CNNIC.

## Eligibility

> **Please note:** We do not provide .CN domains to individuals, organisations or legal entities located in mainland China (with a Chinese country code).

## Required Documents

### Individuals Outside China

* A scan or photocopy of an official document proving the registrant's identity. A driver's licence is **not** accepted.

### Companies and Organisations Outside China

* A scan or photocopy of the business licence, business certificate, or an extract from the commercial register.
* The name of a responsible contact person within the company/organisation, along with a copy of their passport or ID in **JPEG** format. A driver's licence is **not** accepted.

### Registrants from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan

The following documents are accepted:

* Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
* Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents
* Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents\*
* Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents\*
* Permanent Residence Identity Card for Foreigners\*

\* For these documents, both the **front and back** must be provided.
