Installing VirtueMart
VirtueMart is a Joomla extension, which makes installation straightforward. Before you install VirtueMart, however, make sure you are running Joomla 2.5. VirtueMart is currently not supported with Joomla 3.Although hosting.com servers are compatible with a wide variety of software applications, we cannot provide troubleshooting assistance for application-specific issues.

Download to your computer the VirtueMart installation .zip file located at http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files.
📘 Note Usually, you should download the most recent stable version. At the time this article is published, the com_virtuemart.2.0.24_extract_first.zip file is the most current stable version.

Decompress the .zip file on your computer. After you decompress the .zip file, you should have two additional .zip files:
- com_virtuemart.2.0.24.zip
- com_virtuemart.2.0.24_ext_aio.zip
📘 Note The exact filenames vary based on the VirtueMart version you download.
- Use a web browser to log in to your Joomla site as the administrator.
- On the Administration page, on the top menu bar, click Extensions, and then click Extension Manager.
- Under Upload Package File, click Browse.

Locate the com_virtuemart.2.0.24.zip file, and then click Open.
📘 Note The exact filename varies based on the VirtueMart version you download. Additionally, make sure you do not install the com_virtuemart.2.0.24_ext_aio.zip file first. The installation order is important.
- Click Upload & Install. Joomla installs the extension.
- On the top menu bar, click Extensions, and then click Extension Manager.
- Under Upload Package File, click Browse.

- Click Upload & Install. Joomla installs the extension.
- On the top menu bar, click Components, and then click VirtueMart. The VirtueMart control panel appears.
