.COM.BD and .NET.BD are second-level domains under Bangladesh’s .BD ccTLD, managed by the Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL). BTCL requires document verification before these domains can be activated.

Eligibility

  • The registrant must be a company or business registered in Bangladesh.
  • A valid Bangladeshi NID of the company owner and a reachable Bangladeshi mobile number are required.
  • The domain must be registered by the actual eligible registrant, not by a third party on someone else’s behalf.
  • All information in the customer profile and supporting documents must be accurate and consistent.

Required Documents

  • Valid Trade License or Certificate of Incorporation of the company
  • Valid Bangladeshi NID of the company owner
  • Active and reachable Bangladeshi mobile number
  • Official request letter on the company’s letterhead
The request letter must clearly state the purpose of the domain and the exact domain name requested. If the domain represents a brand name that differs from the company’s legal name on the Trade License, the letter must explain and justify the relationship between the brand and the company. Where applicable, please provide a Bangladesh trademark registration certificate or trademark filing receipt to help establish the domain’s legitimate association with the company or brand.

Domain Name Requirements

  • Domain names are registered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to registry approval.
  • The requested domain must match, or have a legitimate relationship with, the applicant’s legal name, business name or trademark.
  • Regular-priced domains must contain at least three characters. Two-character domains may be subject to premium pricing and registry classification.
  • Reserved, government-related, misleading, offensive, unethical or illegal names may be restricted or rejected.

Document Consistency and Additional Verification

Please make sure that your customer profile, Trade License, company owner’s NID, request letter and any trademark documentation are consistent. BTCL may request additional documents or verification depending on the domain name and circumstances of the application.

How to Submit Your Documents

Please submit the applicable documents via a support ticket. Once received and verified, we will proceed with activation, subject to BTCL’s approval.
