This article describes how to configure DNS settings at Cloudflare for a hosting.com Managed WordPress site.

Configuring DNS settings at Cloudflare

To configure DNS settings for your domain at Cloudflare, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to the Hosting Panel at https://my.hosting.com.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Managed WordPress:
  3. On the My Websites page, locate the site, and then click Manage:
  4. In the Ready to go live? section, click Get Started:
  5. In the Change Domain Name section, type the domain you want to use with WordPress:
    • If you want to use the base domain name, type example.com where example.com represents your apex domain.
    • If you want to use the www subdomain, type www.example.com where example.com represents your apex domain.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. In the Configure SSL section, copy the values for the two TXT records.
  8. Log in to your Cloudflare account .
  9. Click the Domain you want to change DNS for, and then click DNS:
  10. Create the two TXT records required for your SSL certificate that you obtained in step 7:
  11. After you create the TXT records in Cloudflare, navigate to your site and confirm they’ve been created.
  12. On the hosting.com dashboard, in the Configure SSL section, click Continue to proceed to the Step 3: Update DNS section.
  13. Copy the DNS records shown, and then create the DNS records in Cloudflare to point your domain to hosting.com.
    🚧 Important Do not enable proxying on these records. You want them to be DNS ONLY (“gray clouded”) so they do not go through Cloudfare’s proxy. Proxying is done by hosting.com.
  14. That’s it! Your domain is now pointing to us.
    📘 Note It may take up to 24 hours for DNS to fully propagate around the world. However, typically these changes take place in just a few minutes.
