Known Scams

A quick guide for how to spot and avoid scam or phishing emails as well as some examples of recent scams we have received reports of.

This article contains a list of all known scam emails that may be affecting our customers.

Protect your data and:

  • Watch out for emails that don't know information about you, e.g. "Dear Customer"
  • Emails that do not show your correct hosting.com log in
  • Links that take you to a website other than hosting.com
  • Notices to make a payment or renewal when these are not due yet. You can always log in to your account to check when your services are due and renew securely once logged in

Always check the sent address from emails you receive. Emails sent by hosting.com will have our domain after the @ symbol (such as [email protected] or [email protected]) Emails from our marketing channels may be sent from a slightly different address but still contain hosting.com.
