Creating categories in WordPress
To create a category in WordPress, follow these steps:- Log in to WordPress as the administrator.

On the Dashboard in the left sidebar, click Posts, and then click Customise:

Enter the new category name, slug (for SEO), and a parent category (if any):

The newly created category appears on the right sidebar when the categories menu is expanded during the creation of a new post:

Another option is to use the Add New Category link. Click the Add New Category link, enter a name for the new category, and optionally select a parent category, and then click the Add New Category button:
